I was inspired by a team member to start blogging. At first I didn't understand why we were worried about blogging in Math. We aren't ELA! BUT...we are moving towards paper-free and maxing technology usage. So instead of journals, we blog. Our district is focusing on literacy so that means we can have our students "blog" about our Math project and thoughts. I'm hip, I can adapt! However, when you are a teacher there is already so many things on your "to-do" list that we drag our feet on great ideas.
Back to my inspiration......
I work with a GREAT team of teachers in my department. Seriously. We have so much enthusiasm and great ideas to share. We will incorporate technology everyday, like blogging. Wait, what exactly is a blog? I've heard of it and read them but not quite an expert. We can't ask our students to do something we don't do ourselves right? So today we came to school to DESIGN our projects and my buddy says..."I blogged last night, check it out!" We all read it and immediately start creating our own blogs.
What do I put on a blog? That's what I'm thinking to myself. I will be able to totally relate to my kiddos when they begin to blog. Wait, what am I saying? I bet my kids have been blogging since they were in diapers.
Well, either way, I look forward to reading some funny (and math-related) posts soon!
FYI....since I'm on a roll today, I made my YouTube channel as well! Yeah, I rock! Here is the link......
